Turned it on for the first time, poured in the base, and the dasher stopped spinning. The small gear on the motor snapped into pieces.
This wasn't a case of of the dasher freezing, it spun fine by hand.

| Right out of the package, the motor was burnt out and just sparked and smelled like burning plastic. Never did get to try making ice cream with it since it's a gift and in order to get the warranty coverage you have to pay to ship it there and back (which is more than the cost of a cheap ice cream maker). |
